History
Maggiano's Little Italy was founded in Chicago's River North neighborhood, at Clark Street and Grand Avenue, in 1991 by Rich Melman's Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises (LEYE), and was named after Melman's late partner, Marvin Magid. According to the company's history, the concept aimed at "re-creating the classic pre-World War II dinner house featuring family size portions." With the successful opening of the Clark Street and Grand Avenue location, a second restaurant was opened in Oak Brook, Illinois and two years later in Skokie, Illinois. Then in 1994 Maggiano's Little Italy opened in McLean, Virginia at Tyson's Corner Galleria II. As Tyson's Corner took off, it became obvious that Maggiano's had great potential to succeed national level, in 1995 Brinker International purchased Maggiano's Little Italy from Rich Melman of Lettuce Entertain. Since then, Brinker has grown Maggiano's Little Italy from four locations in Illinois to numerous locations across the country. Whether celebrating a special occasion or gathering the family for just a night out, Maggiano's wants you to feel at home when you're there. That is why photos around the restaurant are actually of the opening team's family members, and some banquet rooms are named after the working members who opened the restaurant.

The Workers
Many of the Maggiano's chefs are culinary-trained graduates of esteemed culinary schools. They have immense training that allows them to make items from scratch and give restaurant Guests an opportunity to customize every dish to avoid their potential allergies, gluten-intolerant diets and just special requests. Maggiano's chefs will make table visits to discuss dietary and allergy restrictions to put Guests' minds at ease. The made-from-scratch kitchen replicates recipes that have been in Italian families for generations as well as new twists with special ingredients. Maggiano's gives their chefs this liberty to showcase their talent and creativity is another reason there's always new dishes for Maggiano's feature menu.
The Menu
Maggiano's menu features both classic and contemporary Italian-American recipes - homemade pastas, signature salads, prime steaks, fresh fish, regular chef specials and specialty desserts, accompanied by a large selection of wines from acclaimed vintners as well as its own private wine label, Salute Amico. The food is made-from-scratch daily. Family style service or individual entrees are available. Maggiano's has a full menu online with the nutritional value along side. After you dine at Maggiano's Little Italy, you receive more than just a thank you as you leave the restaurant, they give a second round of the dish you ordered to take home as a parting gift! Which they call compliments of the chef. This "leave a lasting impression" deal doesn't include every dish, but the deal does include Maggiano's dishes among nine Classic Pastas that sell for $12.95. The Today & Tomorrow promotion was debuted by the casual-dining chain two years ago, and a year later, the promotion became a permanent for Maggiano's Little Italy's menu.
